Diamond advanced instructor /Diamond Special test/ Cardington grade ‘A’/ Rospa Gold

Our lead instructor, Jonathan, has undertaken and passed the Diamond Special test and the Cardington test and achieved grade A, a grade awarded to only a tiny percentage of ADI’s. This is the most difficult test in the country and is undertaken at the DSA training establishment at Cardington near Bedford, conducted by the harshest of DSA examiners. It is far above the standard of the part 2 and other advanced driving tests. This is what Mint Training believes you should ultimately aim to achieve in your driving and we have the people who can help you achieve it.

The test, lasting 1.5 hours, is taken over a demanding course and encompasses all manoeuvres. Jonathan can train you to pass this stringent test after you obtain your Green Badge. Only a trainer with the coveted grade ‘A’ should be able to train you to the highest standards of driving.

Once qualified as a DSA ADI, there are a vast range of services you can offer in the field of driver training.

The fastest growing sector by far with the biggest shortage of suitable instructors is the fleet market which is the training of qualified drivers to higher standards, for example company car drivers. Due to new health and safety legislation, there are requirements that drivers who undertake driving as part of their work duties should undertake some form of training. By becoming a driver trainer with Mint you will be able to offer these and other services.

Mindful of this, the DSA have now set up the fleet register, a register similar to ORDIT. Being on this register will be a real benefit for your company.

In order to become a fleet driver trainer, you must undertake and pass a further, stricter DSA 3 examination process covering the theory, driving including commentary driving and tuition of qualified company car drivers.

Please note, this is a higher qualification than the Green Badge and the small number of ADI’s on the register are check tested with a qualified driver rather than a learner. Again, Mint Training will train you in all areas required to achieve this qualification.

Further to this, Mint Training also delivers courses on road safety and safer / more economic driving techniques to local companies, schools and colleges.
