We understand that there are many options available for you to begin your training however we know this can lead to a minefield of information. If you are considering other companies the first question you should ask is:
This should always be your starting point as being a driving instructor in no way qualifies an instructor to train other instructors! Even if the trainer is ORDIT registered this is the most basic qualification to train you, your trainer needs far more than this. To put your mind at ease, below is a comprehensive list of all the qualifications your instructor from Mint Training has:
Lead Instructor: Jonathan Hodgkinson
DSA ADI, DSA Ordit, DSA Fleet, Cardington Grade ‘A’, Rospa Gold, DIAmond special test.
The training you receive will be of the highest quality; this can only happen if the trainer is suitably qualified. Jonathan Hodgkinson is amongst the most highly qualified ADI’s in the country and can pass his knowledge on to you.
Lead instructor’s qualifications:

An Explanation of How This is Relevant to Your Training:
Official register of driving instructor training (ORDIT)
ORDIT was set up to ensure trainers were offering tuition of a suitable high standard, and to ensure those standards are maintained. Trainers who are not ORDIT registered either cannot reach the high standards set by the DSA or even worse have been removed from the register.
Lead Instructor, Jonathan Hodgkinson, is qualified for all three parts of the training process, ORDIT 1, 2 and 3. He has proved he is able to offer quality theory tuition, practical driving tuition and teaching instruction.
Jonathan is regularly inspected every 2 years and maintains high standards of tuition. This inspection is carried out by a DSA supervising examiner. Only ADI’s who have proven on inspection they have the necessary skills at all 3 stages can possess this qualification. ORDIT registered organisations must offer training for all three parts. Always ask to see the badge or contact the ORDIT secretary to check.
Jonathan Hodgkinson also holds a premises inspection certificate. This involves checking off safety procedures, suitable training vehicles, inspection of paperwork etc.
Please note: If you choose Mint Training, you can rest assured that you will be trained in accordance with the ORDIT code of practice throughout.
Our Guarantee: Mint Training guarantees that when you have successfully completed all parts to your training you will not feel as though you have been thrown in at the deep end. You will have the confidence to safely teach any driver or learner to the required standard.
